Neuroscience (or neurobiology) is the scientific study of the ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ฒ๐บ . It is a multidisciplinary branch of ๐๐๐ค๐ก๐ค๐๐ฎ , that combines ๐ฅ๐๐ฎ๐จ๐๐ค๐ก๐ค๐๐ฎ , ๐๐ฃ๐๐ฉ๐ค๐ข๐ฎ , ๐ข๐ค๐ก๐๐๐ช๐ก๐๐ง ๐๐๐ค๐ก๐ค๐๐ฎ , ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ก๐ค๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐ก ๐๐๐ค๐ก๐ค๐๐ฎ , ๐๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ค๐ก๐ค๐๐ฎ , ๐ข๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ข๐๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ก ๐ข๐ค๐๐๐ก๐๐ฃ๐ and ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฎ๐๐๐ค๐ก๐ค๐๐ฎ to understand the fundamental and emergent properties of ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ป๐ and ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐๐ . The understanding of the ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ผ๐น๐ผ๐ด๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น basis of ๐ก๐๐๐ง๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐, ๐ข๐๐ข๐ค๐ง๐ฎ, ๐๐๐๐๐ซ๐๐ค๐ง, ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฅ๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ and ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐จ๐๐๐ค๐ช๐จ๐ฃ๐๐จ๐จ has been described by Eric Kandel as the "ultimate challenge" of the ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ผ๐น๐ผ๐ด๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ.
The scope of ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ has broadened over time to include different approaches used to study the ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ฒ๐บ at the different scales and the techniques used by ๐ก๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐๐๐ have expanded enormously, from ๐๐ค๐ก๐๐๐ช๐ก๐๐ง and ๐พ๐๐ก๐ก๐ช๐ก๐๐ง studies of individual ๐ฃ๐๐ช๐ง๐ค๐ฃ๐จ to imaging of sensory and motor tasks in the Brain. ๐ก๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ has also given rise to such other disciplines as ๐ก๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฑ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป, ๐ก๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ง๐ต๐ถ๐ฐ๐, and ๐ก๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐น๐ฎ๐.
As a result of the increasing number of ๐๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐๐๐ who study the ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ฒ๐บ, several prominent ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ด๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ have been formed to provide a forum to all ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐๐๐ and educators.
